My God Loves Me
Pregnancy is an exciting journey. From pregnancy sickness to baby kicks, from maternity wear to baby room, every waking moment deepens my awareness of the gift of life that’s living and growing within me. This has been and is still a journey marked by lessons of trusting God and of growing joy in Him.
Until January Comes
It’s funny how God brings people and places into our lives at the right time and right place, when we most need them, yet do not know where to look. That’s how it was with EV. In fact, that’s how it has been with everything in my life.
Music & dance ministry draws people to the faith
Young Catholics involved in the music ministry in Singapore staged a concert that attracted the attention of hundreds of passersby, among them people who wanted to know more about the Catholic faith.
Hosanna! Music Ministry President Genevieve Chye estimated that some 800 people stopped to listen and watch the July 17 song and dance performances organized by the ministry at Shaw Amphitheatre with the help of other groups.
Performers also explained their outreach program, gave handouts, answered questions on Catholicism and gave information about a basic course on Christianity.
Francine Koh of the New Evangelization Team, which helped stage the event, said that some 90 people expressed interest in being on the groups´ mailing list, most of them to find out more about the Catholic faith.
“Working together in projects like this helps us to grow in spirituality. We learn a lot from each other,” Koh added.
Amilia Chai of Earthen Vessels, a prayer group for young adults, added that most of those who stopped to witness the performances were young people.
According to Chye, the concert was the music ministry´s second public outreach. The first, she said, was held last year for a smaller audience at the Youth Park.
